Join SRAS in Warsaw for Polish language study this summer. Twenty lessons per week are supplemented by conversation practice with native Polish speakers and additional activities providing further immersion in the language and culture.

Through a series of additional seminars and workshops, held in conjunction with our Regional Studies: Central & Eastern Europe course, we will explore history and identity in Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine to better understand contemporary politics, memory, and narratives.

Summer I 4-week session and the 8-week session open to all levels. Summer II 4-week session - 2nd year Polish and higher only.

Courses
LANG 101/102/290/390/490 Polish Language

*Individual participants (due to level placement) will have 10 lessons per week.

Housing and Location
--Housing

Housing is not included with this program. We have, however, negotiated group rates at Gromada Hotel, which is about 15 minutes walk to your classes. The rate for one session (28 nights), twin or triple / single occupancy, is $1,400/$2,370. The rate for two sessions (56 nights), twin or triple / single occupancy, is $2,750/$4,450. A very hearty breakfast is included.

We also suggest looking at Pepe Housing (they work with many students and expats in Poland) or AirBnB or other agencies that provide student rooms. Pay attention to any booking fees with agencies. We will also try to connect our applicants early so that you might team up for housing. If you can team up with 1-3 other students, this is optimal in terms of bringing apartment options to around $500-800 per month each.

--Partner School

SŁOWIANKA Language School in the very center of Warsaw. They are focused exclusively on Slavic language - primarily Russian, Belarussian, Ukrainian, and Polish.

--Location

Warsaw is now growing fast and was the first in the former Soviet bloc to be reclassified as “developed.” Warsaw is booming with coffee, foodie havens, and green spaces filled with culture. While still facing many economic, political, international, and demographic challenges, Warsaw is a true case study in resilience.

Transcripts and Credit Transfer
This program is hosted by SŁOWIANKA Language School. The School of Record for this program is Stetson University (Florida, USA).

4 credits are earned per 4-week session.

Credit transfer to your home institution is usually possible. Additionally, a US School of Record means that your program is supported by and documented by an accredited US university. The School of Record will issue an American transcript, making credit transfer relatively routine.

Scholarships and Grants

SRAS Grants are stackable grants that can provide up to $1,200 toward this program.

SRAS Online Courses will earn you SRAS Learning Credits.

Other, non-SRAS funding sources may also be applicable to this program. SRAS provides a wide list of possible outside funding sources.

Getting Started

The first step is to complete our application (click the Apply now button to create your SRAS account - you will be able to return to the application later). If you are currently a student you should inquire with your home university about next steps for study abroad. This will help ensure that all goes smoothly with credit transfer and financial aid, plus some universities have deadlines for study abroad that are much earlier than SRAS deadlines. They may also be able to point you to additional funding sources. In short, involve your home university's study abroad office in the process as early as possible!

You will find important information about academics, health and safety, and more on our Getting Started pages.

If you are still unsure this is the right program for you, feel free to schedule an advising session with us to discuss your goals and needs!
