Russia and the Environment

Study Abroad

The environment is a local and global issue. Tomorrow's environmental professionals will need to cross borders and communicate with a wide range of people to achieve their goals. This program is geared to help train those professionals today.

You will study Russia's vast and unique ecosystems. You will learn from Siberia's history from colonization to industrialization to its modern state. You will critically consider Russian and international policy theories while meeting, and optionally interning or volunteering with, the local groups who are working to implement best practices. Additionally, you can learn the Russian vocabulary and cultural norms related to environmental issues. Summer students spend two weeks on field studies with Irkutsk State University students. Join us in Siberia and make a difference!
