Professional Training: Medical Interpreter

Short Course

**Please enroll in this course via this updated course description.**

Are you looking for a way to earn money using your language skills? This course prepares you to act as a medical interpreter, facilitating communication between doctor and patient, helping to prevent misdiagnosis, and improving health outcomes.

This course was developed by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation and is administered by Language Connections in Boston, MA. To join an upcoming course, contact us to have a preliminary discussion about your current language level. As a general guideline, your Russian language level should be minimally B2, and preferably C1 or higher, per the Common European Framework of Language Proficiency. This typically means you have studied formally at least 3 years, or are a heritage speaker. The next step is then to complete our short application, at which point you will be directed to our colleagues at Language Connections for a more formal language assessment.

The total course cost is $790 ($50 of this is a non-refundable application fee).
